The Gardening Guru March 2020

Hello Farmstead Families! Greetings from Rainbow Ridge Gardens! My name is Michelle Gualandi, I’m the new Garden Manager and am so excited to be a part of this wonderful group of humans. So how are you and yours faring in these uncertain, anxiety ridden times? My husband and I have a little guy, a AFS Sprouts alumni, Eric hunkering down with us. We started Kindergarten this year. And BAM! school closed for the unforeseen future, much like you all are experiencing with our beloved farmstead. So how are we getting through this? Here at the Gualandi house we are focusing on being outside and our garden! We have transplanted our Brassica seedlings into the garden. We’ve said blessings for these glorious warm, sunny days and started oodles of seeds for the summer garden. (Amping up for the Enka Candler Tailgate Markets new location!) We’ll be growing broccoli raab, brussel sprouts, purple potatoes, tomatillos, beets, tomatoes, dahlias, zinnias and sunflowers to name a few! If you need anything or have questions about your garden or how to engage kids in your garden reach out! I’m an email away at michelle@ashevillefarmstead.org. Happy gardening! Stay kind and be well friends!
